Helîme Ebdullah Ehmed, also known as Mother Helîme, was born in 1937 in the village of Piştagirî, which belongs to the Zawîte area of Duhok province. Her husband was Commander Ebdulhadî Mihemed Saado, the Head of Branch of the 4th Battalion of Mihemed Hesen Bajilûrî. In 1975, Ebdulhadî was martyred in the mountains behind Duhok. Mother Helîme stayed in her village with her six sons and four daughters and is one of those dedicated and heroic women whose husband and 4 sons were martyred on the path to the freedom of Kurdistan. She passed away on April 29, 1997.

After the fall of the Shah's regime in Iran, many Peshmerga went to South Kurdistan; Mother Helîme's house became a shelter for the Peshmerga forces. At the beginning of 1982, one of her sons named Eyûb became a Peshmerga and was martyred on February 10, 1982, in the village of Geverkê. After him, another son named Îsmaîl became a Peshmerga and was martyred on September 29, 1984, on Kemeka Mountain near the village of Baboxkê, and his body fell into the hands of the Iraqi army. Mother Helîme's third son named Selah became a Peshmerga after the martyrdom of his brothers and was martyred on July 20, 1986, in Akrê. After the martyrdom of his brothers, Halîme's fourth son named Mihemed, who is also known as Hemo, joined the Peshmerga forces and was martyred on April 19, 1987, on the main road between Duhok and Amêdiyê.

Mother Helîme's house was always seen as a base for the Peshmerga forces in the region and was held in respect and love by the people. In 1985, she headed to the liberated areas and settled in the villages of Badê and Botiya of Zawîte and Xaziyava. In 1988, after the Anfal and the chemical bombardment of the region by the Iraqi regime, she and her children tried to go to North Kurdistan, but were blocked by the Iraqi army and were forced to return and hid in a forest for a while; later, they were captured by the regime and remained in prison for 14 days and were released due to the protests of the people of the region.

In 1991, she was one of the leaders of the uprising of the people of Kurdistan, and on August 16, 1996, on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), she was awarded the Barzani medal.
