In the continuation of the battles that took place during the Kurdistan Republic era between the two Peshmerga forces of the Kurdistan Republic and the Iranian Army forces, there was the battle of Mala Sheikh village, the Barzani forces had an influential role in that battle. That battle was such that in the Year 1946, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, most of the Peshmerga who were stationed in the Sardasht-Baneh brigade and were from the Suisnati region were in the bases around Sardasht and without informing their commanders, they returned to their homes and children, only 180 Mahabad Peshmerga and a few others remained there, that action causes the enemy to take advantage of that opportunity and on the first night of Eid al-Adha to attack the Warsho-Shinoyi fortress and from there start advancing towards the village of Mala Sheikh, and in the morning, 3 aircraft of the Iranian Air Force bombed the Rabat village.

Therefore, 60 Peshmerga from the Rabat guard base, whose commander was Salih Abdulaziz, crossed the Kaluni River and attacked the enemy in the village of Mala Sheikh and were able to push back the enemy, who were fleeing towards Sardasht. In that battle, one of the Peshmerga named Hassan Khani Barbaji carried out a suicide attack on an enemy tank and as a result, he himself was martyred, so when the Peshmerga were busy moving the body of that martyr, the enemy entered the city of Sardasht. Another platoon of the enemy had captured the Warsho fortress on the same night, but after the attack of the Barzanis, the Iranian soldiers threw away their weapons and fled and left the battlefront, but after they realized that the road to the city was blocked for them, they were forced to return to the fortress. The losses of the Kurdish force in that battle were one martyr and five wounded, and the losses of the Iranian Army were 22 killed, one of them was their commander named Khalat Bari. The gains of that battle for the Peshmerga forces consisted of two large machine guns, 18 Brno rifles, and several boxes of hand grenades and a lot of ammunition.
