Bestun Hussein Muhammad Mahmud, was born in 1961 in the village of Bawa Kochaki belonging to Halabja Governorate, he was a villager and was busy with farming work, he is a graduate of the primary stage.

In Year 1976 in the Hawraman force of the Kurdistan Democratic Party under the command of Nadir Hawrami he became a Peshmerga, at that time their headquarters was in Wushkanawi near the Zalim spring in Halabja Governorate.

In Year 1978 Bestun Hussein and two comrades named Amin Hussein and Tahsin went to the Sharazur plain area to perform a partisan Activity, in the village of Shashki belonging to Khurmal sub-district they fell into an ambush of the Ba'ath regime's mercenaries and after confronting them they were captured, after their capture they were transferred to the prison of the city of Mosul, after one year of imprisonment, in Year 1979 they were executed and were martyred.
