Martyr Hassan Majid Hassan was born in 1941 in Balekiyan village, which belongs to the town of Diyana in Erbil Governorate. He was a villager engaged in farming, studied through primary school, and did not marry.
On 12 Kanûna Yekem 1961, he joined the Aylul Revolution and became a Peshmerga in the Hemîd Efendî Battalion. In 1962, he participated in a battle against mercenaries of the Iraqi regime; he and a comrade were captured in that battle, but they managed to escape. On 1 Tebax 1963, during an attack on the Iraqi regime army at Mount Gorez, he was martyred by Iraqi regime gunfire.
