Martyr Hussein Hama Sofi Faqiani, known as (Hussein Hama Khoshnaw), was born in 1942 in the village of Faqiani in the Akoian Valley, Rawanduz district, Erbil province. He did not go to school and was illiterate. He was married and had one son and two daughters.
In Year 1965, he joined the Peshmerga forces of the Aylul Revolution and became a Peshmerga in the 3rd Battalion of the Balak force under the command of Mullah Amin, along with Muhammad Ziad Faqiani. He participated in most of the battles of the Rawanduz region, including the battle of Mount Korak, Darahishk, Handren, and other battles of the Akoian Valley against the Ba'ath regime.
On April 7, 1974, on the side of Mount Korak in the Darahishk cave, in the border of Faqiani village, Rawanduz district, he was martyred by the shelling of the Iraqi Army. He was buried in the Garda Gardi cemetery in Rawanduz district.
