Martyr Khalid Ezem Tofiq Abdulqadir was born in the year 1960 in the village of Berweni, which is part of the Bemo sub-district of the Halabja province. He was a villager and studied up to the primary level.
In the year 1976, he became a Peshmerga in the Martyr Aziz Tofiq Abdulqadir branch, which was part of the Tawgozi Battalion, and Qadir Heme Salih was the Battalion Commander. In the year 1978, between the village of Sele and the village of Pishte in the Bemo sub-district, they fell into a military ambush of the then-Iraqi regime, and Khalid Ezem Tofiq was severely wounded.
On September 10, 1982, Khalid Ezem Tofiq and a squad of his comrades under the command of Aziz Tofiq Abdulqadir, after returning from a partisan operation inside the city of Halabja, at the Gurge mountain village in the Tawgozi area, which is part of the Halabja province, were surrounded by a large force of mercenaries and soldiers of the Ba'ath regime, and a battle took place between them. After a few hours of confrontation and due to the low number of Peshmerga and the large number of soldiers and mercenaries of the regime, Khalid Ezem Tofiq and his commander named Aziz Tofiq Abdulqadir, who was his own uncle, were captured while wounded by the soldiers. Later, by the order of the Iraqi General Intelligence, that same night, meaning September 10, 1982, at the Gurge mountain pass, they were executed by firing squad and became Martyrs.
