Martyr Khalid Hamza Ali was born in 1954 in Werte village, belonging to Rawanduz district in Erbil province. He was a villager, engaged in farming, was uneducated, and had not entered into married life.
In 1978, he established contact with the Balak Regional Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and became a Peshmerga. He participated in the battles in the Balakayetî area. In 1989, he was martyred at Kunekotir Mountain due to mines and disputes.
