Martyr Salim Khan Awadal Jawhar was born in 1967 in the town of Pirmam, belonging to Shaqlawa district in Erbil Governorate. He was illiterate and married.
In 1991, he joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. In 1995, he became a Peshmerga in the Sêdekan Army and took part in battles to defend the rule of law in the Sêdekan area. On November 7, 1997, he was martyred in the battle to defend the rule of law in Sêdekan at the hands of PKK militants.
