Martyr Tawfiq Hamad Faryad was born in 1958 in Khushkal village, Mazne subdistrict, Mergasor district, Erbil Governorate. He was married and had studied through primary school.
In 1992, after the popular uprising in southern Kurdistan, he joined the Peshmerga Forces of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and became a Peshmerga under Commander Hussein Ahmad Lal.
In 1994, he was martyred by PKK fighters in the battle of Mount Idlib and was buried in Khushkal Cemetery.
